In this issue, I want to talk about using scarcity and countdown timers in your affiliate marketing.
Never underestimate the power of scarcity.
If you're using Commission Gorilla in your affiliate marketing, you already have the ability to use countdown timers on your bonus pages.
This works like magic and is very powerful.
But maybe you aren't using Commission Gorilla. Or you want to take your timers to the next level. We'll look here at your other options.

I did a small split test with and without a video:
Page 1 had no video. Page 2 had a video. The page without the video did better but it was a small number of test results so not rela accurate.
It's FUN and quite fascinating to run split tests on your pages. We'll talk about it in another issue.
Here's the Timer I'm Using In My Next Promotion
The Thrive Themes suite of products comes with Thrive Ultimatum. You can also buy it for a one-off fee.
The reason I like Thrive Ultimatum is it's pretty lockdown. If the buyer opens a new incognito or private window, they'll still see the timer counting down. It doesn't reset it.
You more basic timers will reset which defeats the purpose of the timer. This is kinda important if you sell to Internet markters. If you sell to people in niches outside of Internet marketing, it's probably not so important.
In Internet marketing, there's a group of people who like to complain to high heaven about "false scarcity." A lockdown timer that redirects the page when the offer is over pretty much stems those complaints.
Now, the Thrive Ultimatum timer does NOT work in emails. If you want to insert timers in emails that are synchronized with the one on web pages, you need to get Deadline Funnels which is $50 to $100 a month.
The drawback on Thrive Ultimatum is you'll need to muck around with it a bit to get comfortable using it.
Another one I've used that works well is Countdown Dynamite. I do like Countdown Dynamite. The only thing is, it doesn't have a ribbon that goes at the bottom of the page and is sticky.
Other than that, it works like a champ and is reasonably priced. I've talked about it in past issues. You can see on the screen cap that it's easy to use.
You set your redirect url, you customize appearance, and you can clear history to reset the timer on your test pages.
In contrast, Thrive Ultimatum has the countdown banner. It's a little big for my taste. But if you don't mind mucking around in their editor, you can get it down to a smaller size.
Here's what it looks like at the bottom of the page. I just find it to be a little bit too big..
Here's the interface:
You click on the middle box to set the pages it'll display on.
Now, it has another feature called a lockdown campaign. You probably won't need to use it to start with. It's more advanced.
What's the big deal about timers?
For good, bad or ugly, people respond to SCARCITY.
While as an affiliate, you can't control the scarcity of the main offer, you CAN control the scarcity of your BONUS or BONUSES.
And that will make a significant difference in your promotions.
There's a HUGE difference between a subject line that says:
Get XYZ benefit today
vs.
7 hours left to get my bonuses for xyz product
or
My bonuses for xyz expire in 7 hours

How To Get Approved As An Affiliate
1. If you're an existing Warriorplus.com affiliate, register to be an affiliate for the Affiliate Success Letter.
Depending on your stats in Warriorplus as an affiliate, you may be approved. But if you aren't, relax. There are other ways to get approved, as long as your refunds are under 5%. If your refunds are over that, message me on getyoursupport.com and I'll handle it on a case-by-case basis.
2. Subscribe to the Affiliate Success Letter
I'll approve you on a provisional basis. Your ongoing approval will depend on your percentage of refunds and chargebacks. You need to have refunds under 5% and chargebacks under 1% and continue on at the $5 / month level after 30 days.
