Today I want to talk to you about creating your own 3 to 4 figureMasterclass.
Let’s dive in:
Step One: Take a good look at where you’re at right now with self honesty
What is your current situation?
Are you really focused on getting your business started or successful?
On a scale of 1 to 10, how committed are you?
You know how committed you are by the priorities you set. If you prioritize everything else under the sun other than doing the activities it takes to get the result you want, then you can PREDICT the OUTCOME.
If you SAY you’re committed but you don’t do the daily activities it takes, you won’t get there in 12 months.
If you’re committed, you’re willing to INVEST your time and money in getting the outcome.
If you aren’t willing to invest your time and money in amounts proportionate to the outcome you want, then ask yourself if you REALLY want the outcome.
I hear people SAY they want $10,000 a month. But they’re willing toINVEST 20 minutes a day and NO money.
Their level of commitment says they don’t really much want that result. 20minutes a day with no investment is barely a hobby. You might get $25 or$50 a day, possibly $100 from that.
If you have a hobby type desire, no problem. Just be honest with yourself about it. Stop thinking you’re going to get a $100k outcome with almost no investment.
The universe as we understand it works on cause and effect. The CAUSE has to be sufficient to result in the effect.
A lot of people want to catch a whale with a minnow. You might as well go play poker and hope a whale shows up!
Are you a victim of bright and shiny object syndrome trying this or that thing that sounds good. But not sticking with anything long enough for it to work?
A lot of marketing has led people to believe that you can get huge OUTPUTS with virtually no INPUT.
It’s a nice thought.
But it’s not how our current universe works unless you believe in magic. If you believe in magic, then by all means go for it. And let me know how that turns out for you.
Step Two: Where do you want to be in 12 months using yourMasterclass as the springboard?
Do you want a $5,000 a month business? A $10,000 a month business?
Here’s the thing:
In my recent survey people said PROCRASTINATION, lack of taking action, lack of MOTIVATION were all HUGE obstacles.
When your goal is $1000 a month, it’s no wonder.
Are you really EXCITED about the goal?
If you aren’t or if you don’t feel it’s “realistic,” you’ll never put out the investment of time and money it takes.
So really, you need a GOAL that excites you enough to WORK for it.
Here’s the rule of thumb: If you’re PROCRASTINATING, if you’re NOT taking action, if you’re distracted non stop, your goal is TOO SMALL.
In the words of Grant Cardone, you need to change your THINK first.
Step Three: Ask yourself if your current investment of time and money is a sufficient input to get you the output of money you want?
You may not know for sure. But take a guess. Do your actions really show you’re 100% committed?
If they don’t, then go back to step 2 and create a more exciting goal.
Step Four: Get Software for your Masterclass
Teachable and Thinkific are super simple to use and awesome. They’re also$100 a month or more.
There’s a new Masterclass plugin for WordPress that came out. It’s cheap and is good enough to get you STARTED.
It’s only $11.
Step Five: Pick the niche you’re going to solve a problem for
In group coaching, we dig into this. You want a combination of market demand, existing skills and interests/passions.
Of the 3 market demand is the most important.
Most people never pick a niche so they never can create an offer to sell.

The big 3 niches are money/finances/investing/making money, love/relationships, and fitness/health/well-being.
There are dozens of sub niches. And then you define WHO the person is you want to reach.
For example, female sales people between age 30 and 40 who get their prospects by cold calling.
Step Six: Isolate the big problem of the niche
Find out WHAT the big problem or pain of the niche is. Or the big, giant opportunity.
The bigger the problem, the bigger the price tag for the solution.
Unfortunately, about the only problem most people can think of to solve is weight loss or make money online. The world actually IS a lot larger than that. There are virtually unlimited problems people are willing to pay to solve.
If people feel the PAIN of a problem and it’s a big problem, they’ll pay for a solution.
Solving ANY problem trumps solving no problem. But all things being equal you want to find a GROUP of people with a big problem YOU can solve or can figure out how to solve.
General topics like “how to be a better parent” don’t solve any problem that is hugely painful. Therefore, people aren’t willing to spend much money on solving a problem that doesn’t exist.
Step Seven: Figure out a solution
Even if you don’t know the solution now, there aren’t many problems you can’t figure out a solution to.
It’s nice if you’ve found a big hairy problem that you can solve with your existing knowledge and skills or can quickly figure out.
But sometimes you just gotta dig in and figure it out.
Step Eight: Get some case studies
You don’t have to. But if you can spend 4 to 6 weeks to get some case studies who implement your solution and get an outcome, that makes marketing easy.
Step Nine: Outline your Masterclass
You know where people are.
You know the outcome they need.
Now just plot the path in 6, 8 or 12 weeks.
Step Ten: Create the sales pitch
I like to do this before I create the product. I use a basic 12-step pitch outline.
But it’s really just psychology.
Step Eleven: Hook up your ordering and pages
You know, the tech stuff. Fortunately, this is pretty darned simple with all the modern solutions.
Step Twelve: Get traffic
Of course, this is where the rubber meets the road.
You have free and paid methods. Take your pick. I prefer affiliates to start with or other free methods. That way you don’t waste money on ads that don’t make sales.
