How to Avoid False Scarcity

One of the things marketers like to complain about is OTHER marketers who use "false scarcity."

I don't really hear customers complain about it much.

It's almost always marketers trying to put down other marketers.

With that said, the FTC does have laws about it.

 There are several pieces of software that let you create a countdown timer that is "lockdown," and can't be easily gotten around.

One of those is called Deadline Funnels. It isn't that cheap.  But if it gets you one extra sale a month, you break even.  It's at deadlinefunnels.com.

It's the Mercedes because it has every feature you can think of.  One cool thing is it has timers that go in your emails and sync up to all web pages on the desktop or mobile devices.

Now, Thrive Themes Suite has a product called Thrive Ultimatum that works the same way (I believe).  The price is lower.  I don't think it's as robust as deadline funnels.

But it's still pretty powerful.

Now, the one requirement to "lock it down" is that an email has to be sent to the customer and the link clicked.  I don't think you can activate the lockdown timer just by a visit to the web page.

But the software gives you the link. All you do is put it in your email. And the software does the rest.

Even though there's a cost to it, the GOOD NEWS is that once customers see the deadlines are "lockdown" and very, very difficult to get around, they'll be more responsive to your deadlines.

I bring this up because as an affiliate you'll do bonus pages with a countdown timer.  At least on your bigger or more important promos, you might want to consider using a lockdown timer.

Now, I also use one that isn't fancy. But it's a one-off price.  It's called Countdown Dynamite.  It's not so fancy.  But it's pretty "lockdown."  You might check it out.

One of the things you can promote is my free daily live streams.  When people click and sign up, they're tagged with your cookie and session id.  They go into my 29 product follow up sequence.  You have the potential to get commissions on all 29 sales.
